Garritson geared up for this week’s Southern Section preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College by winning her fourth consecutive Freeway League title last week. She finished the three-mile race at Clark Park in 18 minutes, beating the course record she set last season at 18 minutes 19 seconds.

* Mater Dei, sophomore. Won her second consecutive South Coast League title, defeating Dana Hills’ Amber Tantee, 6-4, 6-1.
Alicia McFall/Cross-Country
* Newport Harbor, junior. Won at the Sea View League finals, finishing the three-mile course at Irvine Regional Park in 17:25 to lead the Sailors, who were 2-3 coming into the meet, to the team title.
Amber Puskas/Field Hockey/Forward
* Santiago, senior. Earned MVP honors helping Cavaliers upset La Verne Bonita in the Tournament of Champions final.
