Motorcyclist Injured When Bike Hits Post

A 24-year-old Ventura man was in critical condition Monday with a fractured skull after wrecking his motorcycle the night before.
Matthew Garrett crashed about 8 p.m. Sunday while driving west on the 600 block of Harbor Boulevard, a Ventura Police Department spokesman said.
He was thrown from his motorcycle after the bike’s right handlebar clipped a chain-link fence post along the roadside, the spokesman said.
Garrett was taken to Ventura County Medical Center and underwent surgery for a closed-skull fracture, officials said.
