Authorities asked for the public’s help Monday in finding a developmentally disabled man missing since Friday.
Douglas Nichols, 24, weighs 160 pounds, is 6 feet 1 inch, has an average build, and has green eyes and blond hair, authorities said.
He has always returned from his outings to the board and care facility where he lives, said Sam Suzuki, a regional manager with Lanterman Regional Center, a nonprofit group that contracts with group homes to care for mentally disabled people.
“Fortunately, he is highly functional,” Suzuki said. Nichols is able to give his name and address and knows how to use public transportation.
Nichols was last seen near Marengo Avenue and Colorado Boulevard with a mentally disabled woman who is 6 feet tall and has blond hair. The woman, who lives at a separate facility, has often been gone days at a time, Suzuki said.
Anyone knowing Nichols’ whereabouts is asked to call Pasadena police at (818) 405-4501 or the Lanterman center at (213) 383-1300, Ext. 425.
