Community Services Offers Activities
Registration is underway for sporting activities offered by the city’s Community Services & Recreation Department.
Six- to 13-year-olds can join a 10-week beginning roller hockey course for $66.
The class, on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Jan. 12, covers the fundamentals of roller hockey. Students need their own equipment.
Five- to 11-year-olds can register for the boys’ and girls’ basketball leagues, which run from Jan. 26 through March 21.
The fee is $12, and games are played Saturday mornings at local parks.
People of all ages and skill levels can join tennis classes, for a fee of $27 for youths and $29 for adults. The classes begin Jan. 12; participants need their own equipment.
Those age 10 and older can join the city’s surfing classes, which begin Jan. 10 in Huntington Beach. The four-week course is $80; wetsuits and surfboards are provided.
