Owner Finds 3 Dogs Poisoned in Street

The fatal poisonings of three dogs in Mt. Washington on Tuesday has upset residents this week.
Jose Amsberry, who lives in the 3500 block of Tacoma Street, called animal control officers Tuesday morning after he found his three shepherd-terrier mix dogs lying on the street in front of his house.
One of the animals was already dead and the two others were bleeding from their noses and mouths and convulsing, senior animal control officer Robert Pena said.
Several empty dog food cans and a bloody plastic bag were found nearby. Pena said the dogs were either intentionally poisoned or had accidentally eaten rat poison.
Pena warned residents not to let their animals roam. Anyone with information can call city animal control officers at (213) 485-5766.
