Bass said it will sell most of its franchised pubs to Bankers Trust New York Corp. unit BT Capital Partners Europe for $921 million in cash to focus on its more profitable company-managed pubs. . . . Honda Motor Co. sued to block the $82.5-million sale of Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway’s auto dealerships to Republic Industries Inc. The suit is one of several Honda has filed against Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Republic, which was not immediately available for comment. . . . Barnes & Noble said it is paying America Online $40 million to be the exclusive seller of books on the nation’s largest online service, shutting out Amazon.com and other major online book sellers. . . . Vishay Intertechnology Inc., the world’s largest maker of resistors and other electronic components, said it will buy Daimler-Benz’s Temic semiconductor business for $500 million.
