COSTA MESA — Rockwell International Corp. said it has completed its acquisition of Hughes-Avicom International Inc.’s in-flight entertainment business to broaden its product lineup.
Rockwell said the acquisition of the Hughes Electronics Corp. unit for an undisclosed amount will broaden the product offerings of its Collins avionics and flight instrumentation business, which it said already dominates the world market for aircraft instrumentation. The products are sold for air transport and regional, business and military aircraft. The transaction was first announced Nov. 4.
The Hughes-Avicom business, which is based in Pomona and has 1,200 employees, will become part of Rockwell Collins, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
