‘Magic School Bus’ gets into holiday recycling; Bob Cratchit is a mouse; be ‘Home Alone’ on NBC

Lily Tomlin is Ms. Frizzle, the teacher extraordinaire, and Dolly Parton is Murph, a proprietor of a recycling plant, on The Magic School Bus Family Holiday Special (KCET, Sunday at 7 a.m.). This animated episode on recycling combines with a live-action “field trip” about the making of “The Magic School Bus” series. Malcolm-Jamal Warner plays “the producer” in a live, behind-the-scenes segment. For ages 2 to 5.

Elizabeth Perkins plays Wilma Flintstone and John Goodman portrays Fred in the live-action movie adaptation of The Flintstones, airing on “The Wonderful World of Disney” (ABC, Sunday at 7 p.m.). The story finds Fred putting on a suit and tie to become a prehistoric corporate vice president down at the quarry. After his promotion, Fred’s co-workers, including Barney Rubble (Rick Moranis), start getting laid off. Rosie O’Donnell is Betty Rubble. For ages 8 to 16.
