No. 7 Villa Park 7, No. 8 Santa Margarita 6--Kristyn Pulver scored from mid-pool with one second left to win the game played at Saddleback College. Pulver, who had previously scored two goals, was switched to goalie after a time out before her game-winning shot.
Sheri Meyer also scored twice and Brandie Seligman made five saves for visiting Villa Park.
No. 4 Irvine 6, No. 9 University 3--Nicole Huszcz and Erin Lezak each scored three goals for Irvine (3-0).
Foothill 8, Edison 7 (OT)--Teresa Gorbutt’s goal tied the score with six seconds remaining in regulation and Jacqueline Piro scored the overtime goal for host Foothill (2-0). Daylene Coberly scored four goals for the Knights and Kimmy Fleming had three for Edison.
Dana Hills 8, Katella 7--Dana Tucker scored five goals and the host Dolphins (2-0) never trailed.
