Xircom Opens Sales Office in South Korea
Xircom Inc. in Thousand Oaks has opened a sales office in Seoul.
Korea is one of Asia-Pacific’s largest markets for portable PCs, accounting for 20% of sales for the region outside Japan, according to International Data Corp.
Sam Yoo has joined Xircom as sales manager responsible for Korea and will spearhead the company’s continued expansion into the Korean portable communications market. Yoo comes to Xircom from Samsung Electronics, where he most recently served as a senior manager within the portable computing division.
“We are very excited to have Mr. Yoo on board to help us strengthen the Xircom presence in Korea,†said Marc Devis, Xircom’s senior vice president of worldwide sales. “The opening of our new Korean office is further evidence of our commitment to the important Korean market.â€
Xircom manufactures PC card and CardBus communications products to connect mobile and remote portable PC users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online services from a variety of locations.
