Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting in Saticoy

SATICOY — One man was dead and another in custody following a shooting in an unincorporated area just outside Ventura on Monday night, authorities said.
The victim was shot during a dispute about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Aster Street and Clavel Avenue, Ventura County sheriff’s officials said. Officials did not identify the men, both from Saticoy.
Deputies arrived on the scene three minutes after the shooting was reported, administered first aid and called an ambulance. The victim was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting is under investigation. Deputies said it is not believed to be gang-related.
