Holiday Project Needs Volunteers, Donations
Irvine Valley College is seeking volunteers and donations for its annual “Adopt-A-Student†holiday project.
The project helps single-parent students and is funded by donations from the community, college faculty, administrators, students and others.
Contributors either make a tax-deductible donation that will go toward food baskets and holiday gifts or “adopt†a family.
Names of family members being adopted remains confidential, but the ages and genders of the children is given to donors so they can buy personalized presents.
Last year, volunteers provided 220 families with food baskets and gave gifts to 430 children.
Food baskets and gifts will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Student Services Center.
The deadline for donations is Dec. 12. Information: (714) 451-5243.
