Jets to Use Rookie Kickers

New York Jet Coach Bill Parcells has decided to keep rookie free agents John Hall and Todd Kurz to handle kicking chores. Hall will do the placekicking and Kurz the punting. Not since 1988, when the New England Patriots used kicker Teddy Garcia and punter Jeff Feagles, has an NFL team gone with such an untested duo.
“Two rookie kickers is not the most comfortable thing for a veteran coach like myself,” Parcells said. “But by the same token, if by some miracle this happens to work . . .”
