Accused Torturer to Testify Against Pal

One of two whites accused of killing a black man who was burned alive and beheaded will help prosecutors convict the other, his lawyer said. Emmett Cressell Jr., 36, has decided to cooperate with prosecutors in Independence, Va., in their case against Louis J. Ceparano, 42, who faces the death penalty if convicted in the July 25 death of Garnett P. Johnson.
