Youths Stabbed, Beaten by Robbers
A group of men chased four youths in a field near Oxnard on Tuesday afternoon, stabbing and robbing one, and beating another, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
The teenagers, who were not identified because of their ages, were walking through the field in the 3300 block of Santa Clara Avenue in Nyeland Acres when the men chased them.
The men struck one of the youths in the head, opening a 2-inch gash. They stabbed a second teen twice with a knife, then stole his wallet, deputies said.
The injured youths were taken by helicopter to the emergency room of St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
Sheriff’s deputies believe the attack was gang-related. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the sheriff’s major crimes division at 645-2340.
