2 Suspects Sought in Parking Lot Shooting
Police are searching for two suspects in a shooting Monday night in east Ventura that wounded a man, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in a parking lot at Citrus Drive and Wells Road when two men suspected of stealing beer from a nearby convenience store drove away in a newer-model Ford Escort and almost hit a car driven by Ignacio Vidal, 27, of Oxnard, said Police Sgt. Randy Janes.
Someone in the maroon Ford fired several times into Vidal’s car, and one of the bullets went through the passenger door, striking Vidal in the right forearm, Janes said.
The suspects drove away north on Wells Road.
Vidal was treated at the scene and released.
