Meeting Tonight on Park Tax Measure
The Yes on Measure P Committee will sponsor an informational meeting tonight on a proposed parks maintenance tax that will appear on Moorpark residents’ ballots in the November election.
The City Council decided last month to place a 10-year tax proposal on the ballot after last year’s passage of Proposition 218 made most assessments enacted without voters’ approval illegal. Moorpark’s parks currently are maintained via a parks assessment district, which is expected to become a casualty of Proposition 218.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Red River Steak House, 233 E. High St.
