Man Fatally Shot While Sitting in Car
A 30-year-old man was fatally shot late Monday while sitting in a car with a friend, according to authorities.
Steven Inendino of Sylmar was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where he died, said Det. Frank Bishop of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.
His friend, described only as a 26-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries in the incident, Bishop said.
The shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. in the 14400 block of Beaver Street, authorities said.
Inendino and his friend were sitting in the car when another vehicle pulled up and opened fire before driving away, Bishop said.
The motive for the shooting was unknown, Bishop said, adding that Inendino was not affiliated with a gang.
The occupants of the vehicle were described only as possibly three Latinos--with at least one female--of unknown ages, Bishop said. There was no description of the vehicle.
