Interim Leader Named School District Chief
John L. Rindone, who had been the Centinela Valley Union High School District’s interim superintendent for more than a year, has been named to take the $103,000-a-year post.
Rindone, 56, who worked in a San Diego County school district for most of his 35-year career, said his mission will be to improve educational instruction in the district that includes Lawndale and Hawthorne high schools.
Since his arrival last summer, Rindone has focused primarily on putting the district’s shaky finances back in order.
“I want to increase the number of students prepared to go to college and the number that are truly going to college from 30% to 60%,” Rindone said.
