Crosswalks
The anti-crosswalk crowd says that because too many drivers are sailing illegally into crosswalks and flattening pedestrians it is really the pedestrians’ fault for not being nimble and alert enough to dance out of the way.
Using this logic, why not eliminate red lights and stop signs and make the person or vehicle that is unable to avoid being smashed responsible for damages?
This would simplify the heck out of personal liability law and avoid costly court battles; the only thing we’d need to do to get our driver’s licenses is participate in a demolition derby. Then we could move onto some real important safety issues, like getting all these pesky drivers off the freeway who refuse to go faster than 55.
