What Are You Drinking?
A couple of months back, I was in Tuscany and stopped in at a little bar where they were making those pressed Italian sandwiches. I asked to see the wine list, and they told me they only had one wine--whatever the owner had bought that week. So I ordered a bottle, and when it came out, it was a 1988 Biondi-Santi Rosso di Montalcino and it was absolutely gorgeous. The owner got all excited because I guess no one ever goes there to order the wine. We ended up sitting at lunch for four hours, drinking two bottles of wine and eating every sandwich and slice of prosciutto they had in the place.
