With Market in Southeast, CompCare Moving
Look for Comprehensive Care Corp. to relocate most of its corporate headquarters staff to Tampa, Fla.
The managed care company, now based in Corona del Mar, is set to move most of the 25 local positions in administrative and financial areas, says Kerri Ruppert, the company’s chief financial officer. Only the company’s chairman and chief executive, Chriss W. Street, and an assistant or two may remain here, she says.
Most of the jobs are moving because the company has restructured itself in recent years, its marketplace has shifted eastward, and in the last year, execs have found themselves commuting regularly to Tampa, the center of its growing managed care business.
“It doesn’t make sense to have a large corporate office in Orange County when most of the business is in the Southeast,” she says.
“We are going to try to economize,” adds Ruppert, who noted that the company plans to consolidate operations throughout the country.
CompCare could use the cost savings. It recently reported a loss of $3 million on revenue of $39.5 million for its fiscal year ended May 31.
