Furon Income Up 33%
LAGUNA NIGUEL — Furon Co., a manufacturer of polymer components, reported that net income for the second fiscal quarter ended Aug. 2 rose 33% to a record $5.2 million, or 56 cents a share, from $3.9 million, or 43 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales increased 23% to $118.7 million from $96.2 million.
Net income for the first half advanced 20% to $10.2 million, or $1.10 a share, from $8.5 million, or 93 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales were up 25% to $238 million from $191 million. The company attributed most of the sales increase to its Medex subsidiary, which was acquired in January.
