Bend Bandits Subdue the Punchless Vigilantes
The Vigilantes’ bid to reach .500 for the first time in a month came up short as they were defeated by the Bend Bandits, 7-1, in front of an announced crowd of 2,579 Saturday at Saddleback College.
The Vigilantes (14-16) were held to only three singles as their three-game winning streak ended.
Bend pitcher Ben Burlingame (4-9) struck out eight and walked two in the complete-game victory.
Bernie Nunez had three hits and drove in four runs and Tim Grice went four for four with two runs scored for the Bandits (12-18), who had lost nine of their last 11.
