Splash update--The Splash is trying to change its fortunes on the road, where the team has won only one of seven games. Ruben Fernandez’s 4.88 goals-against average is among the league’s three best marks. A 12-4 victory over Arizona snapped a four-game losing streak. Bernie Lilavois and Armando Valdivia had three goals apiece, the first double hat trick since Dale Ervine and Doug Neely did it in an 11-3 victory over Detroit on Aug. 13, 1996. Lilavois’s 27 points places him among the top 15 scorers. Danny Barber’s two short-handed goals lead the league.

Sidekick update--Dallas has lost three in a row, including a 3-2 overtime loss at Detroit (2-14) and 7-6 overtime loss against the Twisters in Indianapolis. The Sidekicks are 5-2 at home. Tatu, despite playing only 11 games, is second in the league in scoring with 40 points, and only Houston’s Paul Daugherty has matched his 21 assists. David Doyle has 36 points, third in the league, including 22 goals.
