American Among 7 Killed in Accidents

Three people, including an American tourist, died in the Swiss Alps as the summer lure of the peaks continued to take a deadly toll. Four other climbers were reported killed in neighboring countries. Authorities did not disclose the name of the 22-year-old American. He fell 990 feet from a mountain near Zermatt in southern Switzerland. Since mid-July, accidents in the Alps have killed nearly 60 people.
