OVERCOMING FEAR: Pastor Ned Beadel will present a sermon, “How to Overcome the Fear of Failure,” at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Desert Winds Community Church, 2121 E. Palmdale Blvd., Palmdale. The pastor will use biblical stories and examples from daily life to discuss the feelings associated with failure and offer steps to overcome them. Sunday’s sermon is one in an ongoing teaching series about fear that runs through Sept. 7. Future topics include fear of unexpected crisis and fear of facing the future. * ENTERTAINMENT FELLOWSHIP: At an Entertainment Fellowship dinner meeting, talent coordinator for “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” Jimmy Brogan will discuss his career as an actor, comedian and writer. The fellowship, a nonprofit organization that strives to improve the ethical and moral standards of the entertainment industry, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barone’s Italian Restaurant, 10123 Riverside Drive, Toluca Lake.
