Pageant Applications Accepted Until Oct. 13
Women 17 to 24 years old are invited to compete in the 1998 Miss Placentia Scholarship Pageant, Jan. 31 in the Valencia High School auditorium.
To be eligible, contestants must live, work or go to school in Placentia and must never have been married.
All contestants will receive a scholarship, with the amount depending upon placement.
The pageant winner will receive a scholarship and go on to represent Placentia in the Miss California Pageant, an official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant.
Miss Placentia will also represent the city at various civic events throughout the year.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 13. Candidates should contact the Placentia Chamber of Commerce at (714) 528-1873.
