PacifiCare Completes Sale of Subsidiary

SANTA ANA — PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. said Friday that it has completed the previously announced sale of a subsidiary, PacifiCare of Florida, to Total of Florida Holdings Co. Inc.
Total has been operating PacifiCare of Florida since February pending final state approval of the stock sale. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Santa Ana-based PacifiCare Health Systems is a nationwide health services company. It has announced plans to sell three subsidiaries, including the Florida unit, in the wake of its acquisition in February of health care provider FHP International.
