Admission tickets to the Tower of London can now be bought at the capital’s 250 Underground subway stations. The Tower is near the Tower Hill and Monument stations. Adult tickets are about $14.50. . . . The 200-acre Four Seasons Resort Aviara opened last week next to the Batiquitos Lagoon and Wildlife Preserve in Carlsbad, north of San Diego, with 331 rooms and suites priced from $302.50, including taxes; an 18-hole golf course; five restaurants; and ocean views. In December, it plans to open the first of 240 time-share villas, priced from $20,000 per week. . . .The Netherlands has opened a toll-free information line on the Gay Games 1998 sports and cultural festival, scheduled Aug. 1 to 8, 1998, in Amsterdam. Call (888) 429-4263. . . . Private bedrooms, showers and a gym on your plane? Virgin Atlantic Airways says it plans to install those facilities on the new Airbus A340-600. But you’ll have to wait a while--the planes won’t be delivered until 2002. . . . “Jewels of the Romanovs,” the exhibition that caused a diplomatic flap earlier this year when Russia balked at letting it go on tour from the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., opens Saturday at the San Diego Museum of Art.
