Jews and Latinos
* Re “The Impending Collision of Eastside and Westside,” Opinion, Aug. 3: Far and away the best way to bridge gaps between the Jewish and Latino communities in Los Angeles is to build on already existing areas of common interest.
Public schools, civil rights and the creation of more livable communities are just some of the deep concerns that we share. In fact, many Jews and Latinos have worked together for years, most recently in opposing severe welfare cuts to legal immigrants who reside in both our communities.
By continuing to build on the full range of our shared concerns, we will keep the relationship between us vital and healthy.
