Girl, 3, Dies After Being Found in Spa
THOUSAND OAKS — A 3-year-old girl died Saturday after she was found floating unconscious in an outdoor spa the day before.
The girl, whose identity has not been released, was in critical condition at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center in Tarzana early Saturday afternoon. But a nursing supervisor said later that evening that her body had been taken by the Los Angeles County coroner.
No other details were provided.
The girl had been swimming with her three siblings, her mother and friends at the home of another family in the 800 block of Puesta Del Sol on Friday about 3 p.m., according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
About 10 minutes after getting out of the pool, the mother noticed her 3-year-old was missing. The girl was discovered floating in the elevated spa. She could have been there for as long as 15 minutes, authorities said.
Foul play is not suspected.
