Red Cross Offering Health, Safety Classes
Health and safety classes are being offered by the American Red Cross at several Valley sites beginning today.
Courses include community first aid, infant and adult CPR, and sports safety training.

“Community First Aid and Safety,” a nine-hour class that emphasizes first aid and CPR. It will be taught from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Devonshire Community Center, 16263 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Granada Hills; from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Red Cross Service Center, 14717 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, and from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 25 at the Fallbrook Mall, 6633 Fallbrook Ave., West Hills.
Another class, “Community CPR Review,” provides recertification to those already trained in emergency situations. The course will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Fallbrook Mall.
How to recognize and respond to a life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergency will be covered in “Community CPR.” The six-hour class will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Aug. 20; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Red Cross Service Center, and from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 26 and 28 at the Devonshire Community Center.
The five-hour class “Infant and Child CPR” will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Fallbrook Mall, and 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 26 at the Red Cross Service Center.
The class “Sport Safety Training” will be taught from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 23 at the Red Cross Service Center.
