Chatsworth Legion Team Wins 32-Run Slugfest

Valley North of Chatsworth guaranteed itself a spot in the American Legion West Regional by defeating Stockton Carl Ross, 18-14, Sunday in the second round of the state tournament at the Veteran’s Home of California in Yountville.
Valley North, the only unbeaten team in the state tournament, is assured at least second place. The top two teams advance to the regionals.
First baseman Mike Kunes had three hits, including a grand slam, and five runs batted in. He has nine RBIs in two games. Danny Eisenberg had four hits and three RBIs.
Valley North has today off and will play next on Tuesday at 9 a.m. against the winner of today’s game between Ontario and Auburn.
