Driver Dies After Car Hits Telephone Pole

A Westlake Village man died early Sunday after his car slammed into a telephone pole near the gates of Sherwood Country Club, authorities said.
Fabian Barberis, 30, died after his car hit a pole near Potrero Road and Trentwood Drive about 2 a.m., police said.
According to authorities, Barberis was driving east on Potrero Road when he turned sharply to the left and skidded across the westbound lanes into the pole.
Barberis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
