Huntington Beach Wins Surf Title
Huntington Beach had to wait a day to find out, but it was worth it as the Oilers defended their National High School surfing title.
The competition was completed Saturday at Lower Trestles but Janice Aragon of the National Scholastic Surfing Assn. said the results would not be announced until Sunday’s banquet.
The Oilers finished with 81 points and Edison and Encinitas San Dieguito tied for second with 78.
Bruce Irons of Hawaii won the men’s open division and Michael Losness of San Clemente took first in the junior open.
