D-Day

Thanks to Patt Morrison’s “California Dateline” and to Charles M. Schulz of “Peanuts” for the only mention that I could find in The Times recalling the 53rd anniversary of the greatest wartime amphibious landing in history: D-Day, June 6, 1944, on the beaches of Normandy during World War II.
Having landed on Omaha Beach six days later, I could only imagine what it must have been like for those who went before me and paid the price for the freedom that we enjoy today. God bless them all!
