Bottom of IXth and II Out for Northridge Sports Programs

I hope the Cal State Northridge administration, the CAL NOW people and their supporters feel real good about themselves right now. Not only has the CAL NOW settlement alienated women’s collegiate athletes from the rest of the general population, it has ruined the athletic careers of hundreds, if not thousands, of current and future CSUN student-athletes.
Cutting men’s sports because there are too many men athletes in relation to women athletes is the most pathetic attempt at equality I can imagine. There are many more women teachers and nurses than there are men. Is that not a form of discrimination that should be handled in a similar fashion to the Northridge situation?

The NCAA interpretation of Title IX (regarding Cal State Northridge) is not about gender equity, it is about a quota system, it is extracting your “pound of flesh.”
In high school, twice as many boys play sports as girls, but mysteriously over the summer before entering college, these non-playing girls are legislated to become athletes, while mandating tiddlywinks for many dedicated athletic young men. What a national joke.
