TUJUNGA — A 27-year-old woman escaped severe injuries--or possibly decapitation --Friday when her car seat bent backward before the vehicle crashed into a school bus, according to authorities.
There were no children in the bus, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. at Tujunga Canyon Place and Foothill Boulevard.
Lisa Douglas for an unknown reason failed to stop and ran her Nissan Sentra under the bus, Humphrey said. But her seat gave way, dropping her backward and avoiding her possible decapitation.
She was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
