Crespi senior pitcher-first baseman Brian Felten was named player of the year in the Mission League.
Felten had an 11-2 record with a 1.91 earned-run average and struck out 109 batters in 98 2/3 innings. He batted .386 with two home runs and 11 runs batted in.
Crespi, which lost to Millikan, 2-1, in the Southern Section Division I semifinal, finished second in the Mission League.
Chris Gray of league champion Chaminade was named pitcher of the year. The senior was 10-2 for the Eagles, who were The Times’ top-ranked team in the region for most of the season. Chaminade lost to Anaheim Canyon, 5-1, Tuesday in a Division III semifinal.
Felten and Gray have committed to Loyola Marymount.
Junior pitcher Josh Herman of Crescenta Valley and senior pitcher-outfielder Fernando Rios of Glendale share the Pacific League’s most valuable player award.
Herman was 7-1 with a 2.55 ERA. Rios batted .494 and was 5-1 with a 2.43 ERA.
Jennifer Sharron of Thousand Oaks was named the Marmonte League player of the year.
Sharron (22-4), a senior left-hander headed to Notre Dame, had a 0.35 ERA and led the Lancers to a league title and Southern Section Division I semifinals.
