Robert Serber; Pioneer in Atomic Fission

Robert Serber, 88, a physicist who helped develop the atomic bomb during World War II. Serber introduced his fellow scientists at Los Alamos, N.M., to the concept of fission. After the bombs were built, he advised the military on how to use them. And he was among the first Americans to enter Hiroshima and Nagasaki to assess the destruction after they were bombed.
