O.C. Boy Hit by Car, Airlifted to Hospital

BREA — An 11-year-old was hit by a car and critically injured as he crossed West Imperial Highway near Gemini Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, police said.
Andrew Arthur Herrera of Fullerton was taken by paramedics to a nearby elementary school, where a medical helicopter transported him to UCI Medical Center in Orange about 5:30 p.m.
Police said the boy darted in front of a car going about 45 mph.
The driver was not cited, Sgt. Billy Hutchinson said.
