Brady Anderson had lunch with Oriole owner Peter Angelos on Sunday, the main topic of discussion a contract extension that would keep the All-Star outfielder in Baltimore beyond this season.

Neither Anderson nor Angelos would say whether a contractual agreement had been reached, but Angelos, in a telephone interview from his home, said, “It was a very positive meeting.â€

A team source said an announcement could come as soon as this week.

“They want me to play here, I want to play here,†Anderson said.

Anderson, 33, batted .297 with 50 home runs and 110 RBIs last year.

Bob Aylward, a consultant with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays the past two years, has been hired as vice president of business and sales by the Seattle Mariners.
