Ybarra to Coach Costa Mesa Girls’ Volleyball
Former Saddleback College Coach Yvette Ybarra has been named girls’ volleyball coach at Costa Mesa High.
Ybarra, 26, was a standout player at Boise State before coaching at Saddleback for one year. She becomes the Mustangs’ fifth coach in six years, replacing Dave Sorrells.

Lynette Privatsky has resigned as softball coach at Concordia.
Privatsky was selected Golden State Athletic Conference coach of the year after leading Concordia to second place. She will become a full-time member of the school’s enrollment services department.

Defending champions Bruce Man Song Hing and Mark Kaplan of Irvine will face Bill Howie and Laguna Niguel’s Tim Downey in the Adoption Guild Tennis Tournament men’s open division semifinals at 9:30 a.m. today at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.
Finals are scheduled to begin Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with the men’s open final set for 2 p.m.
