Man Sought in Kidnap Try on Girl, 12
SANTA ANA — Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to force a 12-year-old girl into his car as she walked home from school this week.
Santa Ana Police Sgt. Bob Clark said the girl noticed a man following her along the 1100 block of South Center Street about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The man was driving a two-door, dark-blue car, similar to a Nissan Pulsar or Datsun 200 SX, Clark said.
When the girl refused the man’s request to get in his car, he parked and walked up behind her, police said. The girl told police he grabbed her arm but let go and ran back to his car when she dropped to the ground and started to cry.
The man, who may have been carrying a small-caliber handgun in his left hand, is described as white, about 25, 5-foot-8, with a mustache and goatee. He wore a dark baseball cap.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 245-8603.
