Trimedyne Posts Loss
IRVINE — Trimedyne Inc., manufacturer of medical lasers, said it lost $1.9 million, or 18 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter ended March 31, which included a loss of $276,000 from the sale of Poly-Optical Products Inc., a 90%-owned subsidiary. A year earlier, the company lost $980,000, or 10 cents a share. Revenue declined 18% to $1.8 million from $2.2 million.
For the first six months, the company posted a loss of $2.8 million, or 26 cents a share, compared with a loss of $1.9 million, or 20 cents a share, for the first half of the prior year. Revenue was down 7% to $4 million from $4.3 million.
