Dahlen Scores to End Slump and Give Blackhawks a Win
Ulf Dahlen benefited from a defensive lapse by the Buffalo Sabres and a slick pass from Chicago teammate Michael Sykora to score his first goal since Feb. 17.
It was a big one for the Blackhawks, who strengthened their chances of making the playoffs with a 3-2 victory over Buffalo Sunday at Chicago.
Buffalo lost its fourth consecutive one-goal game, and the Sabres are now 1-5 since star goalie Dominik Hasek was sidelined with a broken rib.
St. Louis 3, Philadelphia 2--Joe Murphy stole the puck and scored unassisted early in the third period for the Blues, who strengthened their playoff position with a win in St. Louis.
The Blues beat the Flyers for the first time since Oct. 31, 1992. With six games to play, St. Louis has 75 points for the seventh-best record in the Western Conference, one point ahead of Chicago in the tightly bunched standings.
Dallas 3, Vancouver 2--Mike Modano had two assists and Greg Adams scored the deciding goal in the third period at Vancouver.
