$86,000 Granted for Senior Services
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors has awarded more than $86,000 to organizations that provide service to the county’s elderly residents.
Receiving the funds were Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, $18,000 for in-home support and assistance programs; Conejo Valley Senior Concerns, $17,000 for assistance programs for people with memory impairments; Help of Ojai, $3,300 for medical transportation; and Camarillo Health Care District, $6,700 for medical transportation.
Other grants were given to Jewish Family Services, $2,678; Hospice of Conejo, $5,998; Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District, $2,855; Alzheimer’s Assn., $434; Ventura County Public Health Services, $4,723; Ventura County Council on Aging, $567; city of Ventura, $2,880; city of Santa Paula, $977; Help of Ojai, $1,529; city of Oxnard, $9,244; Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks, $1,200; Camarillo Health Care District, $3,547; Mexican-American Opportunities Foundation, $2,008; and Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, $3,048.
