California Highway Patrol officers arrested an Oxnard man early Sunday suspected of carjacking and driving under the influence, police said.

Keith Lee, 36, was taken into custody about 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Wooley Road and Cutter Drive in Oxnard. The officers reported that they pulled Lee over after observing him driving erratically and at an excessive rate of speed.

While arresting Lee for allegedly driving under the influence, officers heard a call over the radio from the Oxnard Police Department concerning a carjacking near the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Hemlock Street.

The vehicle, a 1993 Toyota Camry, matched the description given by dispatchers, and the victims later identified Lee, police said. The victims said the suspect claimed to have a gun, but no weapon was recovered.
