Basketball playoffs continue tonight with Buena, ranked No. 1 in The Times’ regional poll, and Crescenta Valley, ranked No. 2, each playing for a spot in Friday’s Southern Section Division I-A championship game.
Top-seeded Buena (24-2) plays host to fourth-seeded and defending state champion Mater Dei in a semifinal at 7:30 p.m. at Ventura High. Buena is led by Nicole Greathouse, who averages 18.8 points and 11.7 seven rebounds.
Also at 7:30, Crescenta Valley (27-2) plays host to J.W. North at Hoover High in the other I-A semifinal.
Junior forward Michelle Greco is averaging 23 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 5.1 steals for the Falcons. Junior point guard Tara Gregory is doubtful because of a sprained ankle.

College baseball: At 2 p.m., Chuo University (Japan) at Pepperdine. At 2:30 p.m., Cal Lutheran at Westmont.
Men’s volleyball: At 7 p.m., Pepperdine at Long Beach State, Pierce at Santa Monica.
High school golf: At 1 p.m., Moorpark vs. Simi Valley at Simi Hills GC. At 1:30 p.m., Agoura, Chaminade, Nordhoff at Simi Hills GC. At 2 p.m., L.A. Baptist vs. Paraclete at Lake Elizabeth GC. At 3 p.m., La Salle vs. La Canada at Altadena GC.
High school softball: At 3 p.m., Alemany vs. Simi Valley, doubleheader, at Rancho Santa Susana Park.
Boys’ tennis: At 2:30 p.m., Buena at Newbury Park, Calabasas at Camarillo. At 3:15 p.m., El Camino Real at Chaminade, Canyon at Glendale.
Boys’ volleyball: At 2:30 p.m., Palisades at Chatsworth, Monroe at Venice, Reseda at Birmingham, Grant at Hollywood, Van Nuys at Eagle Rock, Roosevelt at Granada Hills. At 2:45 p.m., Cleveland at North Hollywood. At 3:30 p.m., Crespi at Hoover. At 5 p.m., Cate at Nordhoff. At 7 p.m., Newbury Park at Dos Pueblos.
